Girish Chandra Murmu is a 1985 batch IAS officer (retired) of Gujarat cadre. He has distinction of becoming the first Lt. Governor of Jammu and Kashmir. He is known as an officer with impeccable integrity and work
ethics. He has recently resigned from the post of Lt. Governor, J & K. Manoj Sinha has been appointed at his place.
Girish Chandra Murmu has been appointed as the 14th CAG of India by the President. He is the first CAG of India belonging to the tribal community.
